Hi! I’m Liam, a husband, father and teacher. Education is my passion and I love sharing this with students of all ages.
I am student focused, your happiness and success is my priority and I will be your biggest supporter. I will work with you to find out how you learn best and we will us this in our time together.
Away from education, I am an avid player of dungeons and dragons and Magic The Gathering. I spend my spare time with my family, at live music or catching up on the classic films I haven’t seen.
I was also diagnosed autistic and ADHD in adulthood. My neurodiversity fuels my passion for individualised, personal learning
Teaching Experience
I qualified as a history teacher in 2019 and have been teaching ever since. I have experience teaching all key stages at secondary level, including extensive experience at KS4/5 across a number of exam boards. Alongside my teaching, I have completed numerous hours of personal development to ensure my practise remains contemporary. I have marked for a major exam board which only serves to increase my understanding of the comprehensive demands placed on students when they sit their final exams.
As well as teaching, I have been tutoring for a number of years, working with a wide range of abilities from students who which to secure 4 grades to students who student who are pushing for 9 grades.
As well as working with students of differing abilities, I have worked extensively with students with various special educational needs and built lessons to ensure that all of them can not only access learning, but thrive in an environment which can often cause significant stress to them. I am especially proud of my work with neurodiverse students, building confidence and achieving educational outcomes.
My teaching style is built around my students. I take time getting to know their strengths and weaknesses with emphasis on ensuring they are focused on what they do well. I will to encourage students based on what they can do. I want all my students to achieve the very best grade they can and I completely believe this comes from knowing them.
