DBS Cleared Qualified Teacher
from £50/session

I’m a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher with experience teaching both in the UK and internationally, so I’m confident supporting students across a range of curricula including GCSE, IGCSE and IB.

Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve worked as a tutor, delivering personalised 1:1 and small group sessions. I really enjoy helping students build confidence in maths, especially those who may feel anxious or unsure about the subject. I focus on breaking down concepts in a clear, structured way and adapting my approach to suit each student’s learning style.

I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, including those with SEN and EAL, and I’m used to tailoring lessons to meet individual needs. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique and helping students understand how to approach different types of questions.

My aim is always to create a supportive, positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can make steady, measurable progress.

Teaching Experience

I am a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher with experience teaching both in the UK and internationally. I have taught GCSE Maths and Statistics in London and IB Mathematics in Dubai, giving me a strong understanding of different curricula and approaches.

I have worked with a wide range of learners, including students with SEN, EAL, and those from mixed-ability backgrounds. This has helped me develop a flexible teaching style, where I can break down concepts clearly for those who need support, while also stretching and challenging more able students.

In my current role, I was also the High Performance Learning (HPL) Lead, where I supported the development of strategies to challenge students and promote deeper thinking across the school. This experience has strengthened my ability to push students beyond the basics and help them achieve high outcomes.

Alongside my classroom teaching, I have experience tutoring students 1:1 and in small groups, supporting a range of abilities and helping students build confidence and improve their results.

I will be moving back to Leicester full-time in early July, which means I will be available for both in-person and online tutoring sessions. In the short term, due to the current situation in the Middle East, I am based in the UK until mid-May before returning to Dubai to complete the academic year.

Education

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics (2:1) from the University of Sheffield, where I developed a strong foundation in areas such as statistics, mechanics, and mathematical modelling.

I went on to complete my PGCE and PGDE in Secondary Mathematics at Bath Spa University, gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). During this time, I trained and worked as a full-time teacher, developing practical classroom experience alongside my studies.

More recently, I completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership at Bath Spa University, which has strengthened my understanding of how students learn and how to create effective, high-impact teaching strategies.
