Kelly Mckeown
I’m a 43 year old mum, to a boy, who is in Year 8. I love travelling, I’ve been to 5 continents! I also love music, going to festivals and concerts. I am passionate about personalised learning and making children feel great about themselves, by giving them strategies and advice in order to thrive.
Teaching Experience
My teaching experience is very broad and varied. I worked in primary schools teaching across KS1/KS2 for 15 years. I worked in a secondary school for a year, teaching intervention groups early reading and comprehension skills, for children who had gaps in their phonics and reading skills. For the past 3 years I have been working in an independent special school for Ks3/ KS4 pupils ,teaching English and working as the SEND co- ordinator. I have also been working in alternative provisions and out in the community with KS3/KS4 pupils, who are not in a school setting, teaching them math and English.
Education
I hold a Bachelor Honours degree in English and IT. I have a PGCE teaching qualification for KS1/KS2. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
